From beach shores to waterfalls to erupting volcanoes, Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park is home to the beautiful active volcanoes, Kīlauea and Mauna Loa. Established August 1, 1916, Hawai’i Volcanoes National park stretches over 323,431acres of land. The park’s purpose is to protect, provide and give access to both of the active volcanoes, and preserve Hawai’ian ecosystems and culture that the land brings.

As said before Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park was originally established in 1916 as Hawai’i National Park but was then split in 2, making Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park and Haleakala National Park.
